Baking cupcakes and muffins that are equal-sized can be a little tricky but with this simple tip you can get them uniformly-sized so that they bake evenly.
One of the most common errors we make when we bake muffins or cupcakes is that we never get equal amount of batter in the in each muffin liner. We rely on our sight to judge but to be honest that’s not enough. Why it’s important to get equal amount of batter in the muffin liners? Because then all the cupcakes would take equal amount of time to bake. You won’t have a few done and a few underdone or overdone cupcakes. And you can be sure of the results of your skewer test because if one muffin looks done, all the others are too. It helps you save time and effort and makes the whole baking process a lot less stressful.
So all you need to do to achieve equal cupcakes is to scoop out the batter into the liners using an ice cream scooper. Why an ice cream scooper? 1. It pours well. 2. You can now be sure of the quantity. So if you pour two scoops in one liner, you know you need to pour the same amount in the others. No judging by the eyes. The result is evenly baked cupcakes/muffins that are uniform in size and texture.
