We all know overripe bananas make the best banana breads, so try this tip and ripen your bananas in a flash and make the best banana breads ever in a jiffy.
If you’ve made banana breads before, you would know that the best tasting banana breads are made with overripe bananas because they’re sweeter . So for example, beautiful bananas like this taste great on their own but won’t make a good banana bread because they aren’t sweet enough. Therefore, when it comes to banana breads, blacker the banana better the bread.
But I am, like many of you, not very good with timing when to bake with how ripe my bananas are. So in situations like this, I need a plan B to ripen my bananas. For that all you need to do is line your fresh bananas (make sure they’re not green) on a baking tray and bake them for 20-25 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius until they turn black like this.
I know they look scary right now, and totally gross but they’re actually great to be used in banana recipes. Why this happens, is because the heat from baking makes the banana release sugar, which sweetens the bananas and in turn sweetens your banana bread.
All that’s left to do now, peel the black bananas and scoop out the insides and use in the recipe as directed.
